iPhone Screen Recorder With Audio (No Extra App Required)
A companion walkthrough to follow alongside the written guide.

- 01
Prepare a clean recording
Check that you have space for the clip and enough battery for the session. Open the game and choose the orientation you want to keep. Enable a Focus mode and check its allowed contacts and apps; a Focus can still permit notifications. Close any private content you might switch to accidentally.
- 02
Find the screen recorder
Open Control Centre and look for the circle-within-a-circle Screen Recording control. If it is missing, use Control Centre’s editing controls to add it; older software places these settings under Settings → Control Centre. On most current devices you open Control Centre by swiping down from the top-right corner.
- 03
Test the audio you want
Press and hold Screen Recording to check the microphone setting. Keep it off if you want only app audio; enable it for spoken commentary. App audio capture depends on the game, so record a short sample and listen before a full match. A microphone also picks up room sound.
- 04
Capture the match
Start recording and let the three-second countdown finish, then return to the game. Keep the same orientation throughout the clip. Avoid opening Control Centre or other apps during the action. If performance drops, stop and try a shorter recording after closing other apps and letting the device cool.
- 05
Stop, trim and review
Stop using the recording indicator or the red recording control in Control Centre. Find the clip in Photos, open Edit and trim unwanted time at either end. Watch the saved result with sound. Keep the original until you have transferred and backed up the footage you plan to use.
Check your finished work
Use this checklist before moving on.
Something not working?
There is no game audio
- Test the same game again and check its sound settings.
- Some apps block audio or video capture. Turning on the microphone is not a clean substitute for internal game audio.
Screen Recording will not start
- Stop screen mirroring first, then try again.
- Check storage space and any device restrictions that disable recording.
The clip is sideways or interrupted
- Open the game in your intended orientation before starting the recorder.
- Review Focus exceptions and repeat a short test before recording the full session.
